Getting What You Want

The Dalai Lama said, “Remember that not getting what you want is sometimes a wonderful stroke of luck.”

Word’s of wisdom from someone with a great deal of clarity about life.

Take note of what the quote says. Sometimes we get what we wish for and it’s actually something we would rather not have.

This really goes back to “what we focus on expands.” Remember to check your thinking to make sure it’s positive. Everything is about energy so if you want to attract prosperity and abundance it’s important to put positive energy out into the Universe.

I can't seem to make it perfect!

How often have you heard someone say “I can’t seem to make it perfect!” Or a client say “it’s not perfect so I can’t sell it yet.”

Nothing is perfect in life and the more you attempt to make it so, the less perfect it usually becomes.

If you’re in business and you write articles, create products or want to write a book and think that unless it’s perfect you can’t do it, please put that thinking on the shelf.

If I had waited until I thought my book “The Astonishing Power of You” was absolutely perfect which is why I dithered about it for so long, I would never have published it and it would never have been on Amazon’s best seller list. God never meant for us to be or do things perfectly, just to be authentic and to get it done.

If there’s something you want to do, just do it. Better not to be perfect than to have regrets that you didn’t get it done.

Focus on What YOU Want

Usually I suggest to clients that they focus on what they do want and not on what they don’t want however although it’s important to know what you do want it’s also important to know what you don’t want in life/business.

Knowing this clearly is very important to your standing and values in life.

Do you have clearly defined boundaries?
Do you come from a place of integrity? If you say you’re going to be somewhere or do something do you follow through?
Are you taking care of yourself or do you say yes to everyone else even when you want to say no?
Do you take responsibility when something happens that could have been avoided or do you throw it back on the other person and get defensive?
Are you acting instead of re-acting to life in general?

If you can honestly, without fudging say yes to all of the above then you and your values are in a great place. If you say no to any of them you probably still have some work to do and you need to become more consciously aware of your behavior so you have a way to create new habits.

There are no rights or wrongs yet we can live life differently if we pay attention to those things that are not working for us and make little changes.

Do you check your bank accounts regularly?

Happy New Year everyone!

My apologies for not writing for the past few weeks! The holidays got crazy, I had visitors from the UK and then I got sick. What can I say other than life sometimes gets in the way.

Then to top it off I found out I was the victim of bank fraud and someone had managed to forge checks and my signature and steal $6,000 from one of my bank accounts. It’s not even about the money because the bank puts it back however it is scary to think it’s that simple! Over a period of 24 hours they went to an out of area branch and cashed six separate checks amounting to nearly $6,000.

I found out quite by accident. A bill I had paid didn’t go through and the bank wrote and told me there wasn’t enough money in the account. I went online and checked and lo and behold there it was, or rather there it wasn’t. I usually check my accounts online at least twice weekly however with the holidays, guests and getting sick I didn’t. I learned a huge lesson and found out from the bank that every bank has this challenge 2-3 times a day.

Whether in business or personally please keep a close watch on your bank accounts. Apparently it’s easier than we might think!

I also learned that online bill pay according to my bank is less safe than paying bills by check!

Anyway I just wanted to share this with you in the hope that you will check your accounts regularly so that this doesn’t happen to you.

‘Til Next Time
Joy and Blessings
