WHAT YOU FOCUS ON EXPANDS

Because of many conversations I’ve had recently, it has become obvious to me, that both professionally and personally, there are still many people who don’t get the “What you focus on expands,” theory.

As I’ve said many times before, attracting what you want in life is about your energy and the energy in the universe around you. It doesn’t just depend on your thinking, your words, the focus you have or the action you take. It depends on everything working in alignment, especially your mind.

What you focus on does expand. If you are constantly talking about debt that’s where you will stay. That doesn’t mean you shouldn’t be aware of your finances, it means have a plan to get it cleared up, take the action and then let it go. Make different choices and start preparing on bringing abundance into your life.

While I’m talking about it abundance isn’t just about money, it’s about being grateful for all the wonderful simple things in life.

If you are afraid or doubtful, stop focusing on the fear and doubt. It is necessary to acknowledge it because that keeps you real. Then tell the fear it has no power over you and then move forward into action. Remember, that fear is just “false evidence appearing real.” You have a choice. I encourage you to choose Power, purpose and passion.

If you have an illness of any description, stop focusing on feeling awful, getting tired or anything else. I have fibromialgia and 3 herniated cervical discs that can play havoc if I allow it. I choose not to. I take the necessary action, I don’t do the woe is me and every day I use the power of positive thinking.

If you want to lose weight, stop focusing on losing weight. Look at changing the way you eat, think and exercise. Add relaxation or meditation into your day, it’s been highly researched that there’s a link between stress and weight gain. Focus only on getting healthy and that’s what will happen. Be happy with who you are.

These are just a few examples. There’s an exercise I often give to clients called My Perfect Day. Write about how your perfect day would look if you could have it any way you want. Remember to write about what you ‘do want’ and not what you don’t want. Post it somewhere you can see it and live each day the way you would ideally like to live.

‘Til next time, have a wonderful week.

Simple not Stressful

Here we are almost at Thanksgiving and we know that once that day passes, before we turn around Christmas will be here.

The secret to this time of the year, or any time, in order not to get stressed, is to decide in advance that you are going to stay calm, as relaxed as possible and organized. It’s all about how you choose to think and how you plan so that when the holidays arrive you are not still running around the day before buying gifts, groceries or whatever and completely stressed.

There’s approx 4 weeks until Christmas Eve. Once Thanksgiving is over, if you haven’t already made a plan, take a few minutes and get it done. Here are a few suggestions:
  • First, write out everything that you need to do before the holidays that don’t include working. Keeping it in your head doesn’t work. Writing is more productive.
  • If you are going to volunteer to help serve a meal to the homeless or something similar, make sure you arrange your days around it so that you can do it with ease and grace.
  • Prioritize. By doing this you will know what needs to get done now and what really can wait until a week before.
  • Write out a gift list. Think about what you want to buy each person so that you have some idea when you get to the stores. Schedule in your planner exactly when you intend to get this done. Make it an appointment with yourself.
  • If you are making the holiday meal, write your grocery list and buy and pre-cook as much as you can in advance.
  • Simplify, simplify and simplify even more. Whether its work related or not, don’t make everything into a big production. It just needs to be warm and friendly. The connection you have with the people you love is the most important thing at holidays.
  • For those of you who have children who will soon be on holiday break, plan ahead so that you have things organized to keep them busy, line up a babysitter, grandparent or friend. Do whatever is needed to keep Mom from getting overly stressed.
  • One of the most important things is to remember to breathe. When you are feeling tight in your shoulders, do shoulder shrugs and take deep breaths, it releases tension.
One of the most important things to remember is that it doesn’t have to be perfect. The holidays are about having fun and being with friends and family.

Have a wonderful, fun filled and joyful Thanksgiving.

‘Til next time
Here’s to your brilliance and success.

Money is not the be all and end all of everything.

Having just finished my new book launch and having The Astonishing Power of You reach #5 on Amazon’s best selling list on November 1st was very exciting and I am so very grateful and thankful for every single person who contributed to making it a successful launch. We have extended the special gift offer until November 21st. If you missed it and would like to receive $2,000 in FR^E bonus gifts check out the details at http://www.theastonishingpowerofyou.com/amazon.html.

Unfortunately, two days after the launch I got really sick with some kind of nasty flu virus that knocked me for off my feet and for 5 days I was barely able to work so I’m now getting back on track and very grateful to be feeling better and more energized. I got well enough just in time to attend the certification program that I had committed to many months ago and this past weekend I became one of the first certified Simple Abundance leaders with Sara Ban Breathnach, which during 2008 will allow me to facilitate simple abundance workshops using her material.

Meeting Sara and being taught by her was truly a delight. For someone who is so well known and has been on Oprah more than 12 times, she is one of the most down to earth, real people that I’ve met in a very long time.

I always talk about gratitude being so important and during this past week this became re-enforced in so many ways. Although money certainly makes life easier, and being a business coach I teach people how to create wealth, there’s so much more to life. As I’ve said in the past, abundance isn’t just about money. Look around you, take in life, see the little things and become truly grateful for what you do have instead of focusing on what you don’t have. Money is not the be all and end all of everything.

As we reach the holidays, Thanksgiving and Christmas I encourage you to start thinking of all the ways in which you can give back to your community, your friends, family and the world at large. Money isn’t always the answer. Volunteer to serve food to the homeless, (I like to do this on Christmas day) baby-sit for a single Mother so she can have an hour to herself, read to the elderly, there are so many ways. By giving, we truly receive so much in return.

Have a truly happy and wonderful Thanksgiving and a great week.

FR^E Bonus Gifts for all. Happy Halloween.

I’m very excited to tell you that my new book The Astonishing Power of You, Simple Steps to Creating an Extra-ordinary Life, is being released tomorrow, Thursday November 1st, 2007.

It’s been a very interesting year. I never cease to be amazed by the fact that however much we’ve already learned there is always something even newer to learn. What we focus on really does expand and the dreams and goals I put on my wonderful vision board at the beginning of the year are starting to come to fruition.

We always need to remember that not only is there a Law of Attraction, there is also a Law of Gestation. For our dreams to materialize we need to have the vision, put plans into action and then have patience. The timing isn’t always exactly when we want it, however, if we persevere what we want can happen. My new vision board for 2008 is ready, is yours? If not, start planning it now so your subconscious starts to recognize your dreams for next year.

I have a direct and very simple outlook on how to create positives in life which is why I decided to write this book as if I was having a conversation with you, rather than a long involved process. I also decided that if people were going to buy the book, I would like them to receive additional gifts for no cost.

In order to do that, I joined with over 25 authors and best selling experts who are supporting the launch of The Astonishing Power of You by contributing thousands of dollars in FRE^ Bonus Gifts especially for You.

If you buy just one copy of the book between 12.15a.m. – 11.55p.m. Eastern time tomorrow Thursday November 1st, you will receive thousands of dollars in FR^E Bonus Gifts from these best selling experts and authors. You can click on this link www.theastonishingpowerofyou.com/amazon.html to get all the details about this very special offer. Remember, you need to wait until 12.15a.m. Eastern time November 1st.

If you really want to experience a new perspective on success and be free to go after anything you dream about in life, then click on this link on November 1st.

IT MAY TAKE A VILLAGE

Sometimes like the saying, “It takes a village to raise a child,” it does take a village to get where we want to go, whether it’s in a relationship, with a friend, family or professionally. It’s important to have people who can support you in any area of life when you need it.

In your personal life it’s great to have at least one person, a friend, family member or whomever, someone you know and trust that will let you lean on them if necessary. Some one who can lend an ear and encourage you when you’re down.

The same applies to your business. Doesn’t be a lone wolf; create a team. Use whatever support you can afford that will sustain your business needs and free you up to do what you do best. If you can’t afford to hire people, look at hiring an intern. If you need a website, go to a local college and ask a student. If you look you will find what you need and having help will allow you to focus on what you do best.

Following on with that, it would be remiss of me not to mention the horrendous fires we are having here in Southern California. The worst in California’s history. Hundreds of thousands of people have been evacuated, homes have been lost and places have been declared a state of emergency. Although I don’t live in a fire area the winds are spreading the smoke everywhere and I feel like I’ve been breathing it in all day. I can’t even begin to imagine what it must feel like where the fires are situated.

Any kind of tragedy often gives me pause for thought. We really need people when something negative happens in life. Family, friends, colleagues and it’s probably going to take a village for many of these displaced people to re-build. If you look at situations that have happened in the past, it’s always taken groups of people to help build things back up.

For those of us that practice the principles of The Law of Attraction, it does not mean that people have attracted these fires. Nature is nature and sometimes things are beyond our control. In any given situation the most important thing to remember is that everything is our responsibility and nothing is our fault.

Wherever you live right now, I would encourage you to take a look at your life and remember that in every challenge there is a gift of discovery. When you have any kind of challenge in your life, ask yourself what you can learn about yourself or the world around you from the situation. My line for many years, based on my own experiences, has been, “from something bad, can come something good,” and even in the worst of times, I’ve learned something huge from the situation.

My heart & prayers go out to all the people who are in fire areas.

THE POWER OF ATTITUDE

Attitude is definitely a state of being! It’s a choice you make. I’ve heard every excuse over the years, both as a therapist and a coach about why someone didn’t reach a goal, have time, follow through, leave an unrewarding job or relationship, keep commitments or just have fun, enjoy life and be happy.

I also in years past, made the same excuses, had the same negative attitude and learned how to make the changes so that today, I live the life that I want. I’ve been there, done that and it doesn’t work. My dream vision is to see everyone having a wonderful attitude about themselves, their lives, their professions and living the life they dream about. It does take some work to get there and it can happen.

I’ve heard the words, “I don’t know” “I don’t have the money,” more times than I care to think about and my answer has always been the same. “Yes, you do, but first you have to open your heart and be truthful with yourself.”

Every time you say “I don’t know,” or “I don’t have the money,” that’s what you are creating.

If the attitude you have is that you can’t take a vacation because there isn’t enough money, that’s the way it will stay. Money is the biggest nemesis for most people. If your attitude is that there’s no great relationship out there for you, there won’t be, or that you can’t be successful in business and you are in fear, anxiety and doubt about yourself, you don’t leave yourself open to attracting what you want.

When you start asking yourself “how can I create enough money to take some time off,” the universe will start working for you. Start doing things for and with yourself without worrying about a relationship and you will open yourself up to attracting what you want. Think positively about your business and you will draw business to you.

Changing attitudes has to happen on all levels, physically, emotionally and spiritually. You have to be willing to walk the talk! You can read every book and take every workshop but if you keep justifying without facing your own truth, it’s almost impossible to move forward successfully!

Whether its fear, anxiety, overwhelm or stress, all these feelings are created by the way you think and the attitude you have.

Apart from the fact that I learned this for myself, one of the most important things I discovered is that it doesn’t have to be a long or difficult process. Getting caught up in the rhetoric is often what holds people back. There are many simple and direct tools to use that can help you move forward. One of the most important tools is; that you make a decision to have a positive attitude each day and that you intend to create the life that you want.

Shoulda, Coulda, Have to!!

I think these words were almost like a mantra during my most developmental childhood years “you should”, “You could,” “You must,” “You have to.” They became ingrained into my subconscious, as are most things we see and hear as children during our young years.

As I discovered over the course of 60 years, I wasn’t the only one who received these messages. I’d go so far as to say that probably, from my experience with people and with clients, that about 95% of the population live their lives with this kind of thinking.

Unfortunately, this is really detrimental to our growth, spiritually, personally and professionally. When we think this way, we are not following our own path, we are following the path of someone else through the messages we have stored on the subconscious level.

There are no, shoulds, musts, could, have to, there’s really only what it is that you love to do and are passionate about doing. When you find yourself saying or even hearing these words, ask yourself a couple of questions. “Who said I should or must.” Do I think it’s necessary? Is it something I really want to do or am I doing it because I think I’m supposed to and will feel guilty if I don’t?” “Will doing this get me closer to the results I want in life or business?”

Hopefully, your answer will be no, I’m doing this because I really want to because it’s something that makes me happy.

The great thing about life is that dreams can come true. If your’s are not materializing the way you want take a look at the words you are using. The words we use = the way we are thinking = the action we take = the results we create.

Build your life for you, set goals for you, and achieve your dreams for you. You don’t need someone else’s validation to live the life you want.
